We provide personalized care and evidence-based treatments to support the mental well-being of children, adolescents, and their families.

Individual Therapy (Adolescent or Adult)

Therapy begins with building a foundation of trust, creating a safe and supportive environment for open communication. This partnership fosters a space where patients can explore difficult emotions, challenge unhelpful patterns, and embrace healthier, more adaptive ways of living. For both adolescents and adults, therapy may involve examining thoughts, emotions, and relationships—both past and present.

My approach is integrative, incorporating techniques from various therapeutic modalities. When appropriate, I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and restructure negative thought patterns, fostering more realistic and productive ways of thinking. This structured approach includes collaboratively developing actionable plans to encourage positive behavioral change and personal growth.

Family Therapy

Family dynamics profoundly shape the well-being of every member. Effective family functioning relies on healthy boundaries, clearly defined roles, and balanced relationships. Family therapy focuses on enhancing these dynamics, promoting teamwork between partners, and nurturing supportive, adaptable relationships between parents and children.

When conflicts or challenges arise, family therapy provides a framework for re-establishing healthy communication, mutual respect, and functional roles. This process helps families adapt to changes while preserving their cohesion and creating a safe, nurturing environment where every member can thrive.

Comprehensive Evaluation

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is essential to understanding a patient or family’s unique story and identifying the most effective treatment. This process explores a wide range of factors, including genetics, personality, life experiences, relationships, and current circumstances. For children and adolescents, evaluations are more detailed and may span multiple sessions, covering areas like interests, social interactions, school performance, and daily habits.

At the end of the evaluation, I provide a detailed assessment combining biological, psychological, and social factors with developmental needs and strengths. This forms the foundation for a personalized treatment plan. Additional testing, such as laboratory or psychological assessments, may be recommended if necessary. I prioritize transparency, collaboration, and ensuring patients and families feel supported throughout the process.

Medication Treatment

The decision to begin psychiatric medication is significant and often accompanied by many questions or concerns. My approach to medication is thoughtful and deliberate, guided by evidence and tailored to each patient’s specific needs.

In some cases, medication may be unnecessary; in others, it can play a critical role in achieving stability and well-being. Medications can reduce harmful behaviors and improve symptoms like anxiety, hyperactivity, and mood dysregulation. While some medications take effect within days, others—such as those for mood disorders—may require several weeks or months to achieve full efficacy.

Close monitoring is integral to medication management. Regular follow-up sessions and brief check-ins ensure the treatment is effective and adjustments are made as needed. Over time, the frequency of visits decreases as stability is achieved, ensuring care remains both responsive and collaborative.
